Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and vans safely and efficiently throughout the Illinois region.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT and company safety regulations.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and handling fragile items with care.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, delivery receipts, and electronic logging devices (ELD).
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding schedules, delays, and delivery issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Keep the vehicle clean, organized, and well-maintained at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Current DOT Medical Card (available for renewal if needed).
- Must be at least 21 years of age to operate a commercial vehicle across state lines.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle troubleshooting and safety checks.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.
