Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks to transport loose materials such as sand, gravel, asphalt, and dirt to various construction sites and landfills.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in safe operating condition and meets DOT regulations.
- Load and unload trucks using hydraulic gates or manual labor, ensuring weight distribution is balanced for safe driving.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and adhere to all traffic laws and company driving policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and site supervisors regarding load status, delivery times, and any potential hazards.
- Keep the truck and trailer clean and free of debris to maintain a professional image and prevent safety hazards.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience operating dump trucks or heavy construction vehicles.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT physical) and drug screen on file.
- Ability to pass a background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) review.
- Physically fit and capable of climbing in and out of the cab repeatedly and lifting heavy items.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and electronic logging devices.
