Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks (Class A or B) during designated night shifts to deliver freight to customers throughout Miami-Dade County.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, or dock plates) while maintaining cargo integrity and security.
- Maintain accurate records in Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and logbooks, ensuring strict adherence to Hours of Service (HOS) rules.
- Navigate complex Miami traffic patterns efficiently and safely, utilizing GPS and map apps to optimize delivery routes.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and warehouse personnel regarding delivery status and any delays.
- Keep the cab and cargo area clean and organized, adhering to company hygiene and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) with a clean driving record (no more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT physical).
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience in the last 3 years.
- Basic mechanical skills to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues before reporting them.
- Willingness to work night shifts (e.g., 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM) with occasional weekend availability.
- Strong physical stamina to lift boxes and stand for extended periods during loading/unloading.
