Responsibilities
- Operate commercial Class A vehicles safely and efficiently to transport freight across the state.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring all items are secured properly.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and adhere to Hours of Service (HOS) laws.
- Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding delivery schedules, traffic conditions, and potential delays.
- Keep the cab and trailer clean, organized, and well-maintained at all times.
- Resolve any minor mechanical issues on the road and document all maintenance performed.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A required.
- Must possess a clean driving record (MVR) and be insurable under our company policy.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable experience driving tractor-trailers.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Basic knowledge of diesel mechanics and troubleshooting.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
