Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks and heavy equipment to transport materials (sand, gravel, soil, asphalt) to and from construction sites.
- Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and en-route inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety compliance and identify any maintenance needs.
- Load and unload materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual labor, ensuring proper securing of cargo.
- Adhere to all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized truck cab and cargo area.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and site supervisors regarding delivery times and route changes.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with necessary endorsements (if applicable).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience driving dump trucks or heavy haul vehicles.
- Clean driving record with no recent DUIs or serious traffic violations.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy loads and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong knowledge of local Kansas City roads and traffic patterns.
