Responsibilities
- Operate Commercial Vehicles: Safely and efficiently drive tractor-trailers on designated routes in and out of the Durham, NC area and beyond.
- Precise Delivery: Ensure all freight is loaded, secured, and delivered on time to the correct destination, handling cargo with care.
- Safety Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is road-ready and in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs, manifests, and delivery paperwork in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and brokers, ensuring high satisfaction and repeat business.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Report any mechanical issues or damages immediately to maintenance personnel to ensure fleet reliability.
Qualifications
- Class A CDL: Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A) with the necessary endorsements.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of verifiable OTR (Over-The-Road) driving experience.
- Clean Record: A clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no preventable accidents or major violations in the last 3 years.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to use radio dispatch systems effectively.
- Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
