Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and extracurricular activities
- Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and maintain daily logs
- Implement student safety protocols during loading/unloading
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatchers
- Maintain clean and orderly bus interior
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws and district safety policies
- Respond appropriately to student behavioral issues
Qualifications
- Valid Nebraska Commercial Driver's License (Class B with P/S endorsement)
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Excellent driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Patience and compassion when working with children
- High school diploma or equivalent
