Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from schools and field trips following designated routes and schedules
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness/maintenance logs
- Enforce bus safety protocols and manage student behavior per district guidelines
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Adapt routes for traffic conditions and emergency situations
- Complete incident reports and maintain accurate attendance records
- Participate in ongoing safety training and professional development
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Clean driving record (no DUIs in past 5 years)
- Child CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Fluency in English; bilingual Spanish preferred
- Background clearance through FBI and DOJ
