Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following traffic laws and district policies
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Manage student behavior and ensure orderly conduct on the bus
- Assist students with boarding and exiting, including mobility challenges
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident reports
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to emergency protocols and safety procedures
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 1 year commercial driving experience
- Pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screening
- Texas Department of Public Safety School Bus Certification
- Clear criminal background check and driving record
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Commitment to student safety and punctuality
