Responsibilities
- Safely operate district-provided school buses on assigned routes
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Ensure student safety through proper loading/unloading procedures
- Maintain orderly conduct and enforce bus rules
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all traffic laws and district policies
- Complete required safety training and documentation
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Texas School Bus Driver Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
