Responsibilities
- Safely transport students along designated routes to and from school on time.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Manage student discipline and maintain a safe, orderly environment on the bus.
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring they remain safe at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, parents, and school staff regarding route changes or student issues.
- Keep the bus interior clean and sanitized at all times.
- Follow all traffic laws, school district policies, and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
- Clean driving record (no DUIs or major violations in the last 7 years).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, drug screen, and physical examination.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact positively with children and parents.
- Ability to work early morning hours and occasional extended shifts.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
