Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and extracurricular activities
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain orderly bus environment and enforce safety protocols
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws and district transportation policies
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and dispatch
- Complete accurate trip documentation and incident reporting
- Keep vehicle clean, fueled, and mechanically sound
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B CDL with Passenger & Air Brake endorsements
- Minimum 3 years safe driving record (no major violations)
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Child CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience working with children preferred
- Ability to manage student behavior firmly yet kindly
- Strong spatial awareness and navigation skills
- Fluent in English (bilingual Spanish a plus)
