Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks safely and efficiently over long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck and cargo are in optimal condition.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
- Load and unload cargo securely, utilizing proper lifting techniques and securing straps.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues promptly.
- Keep the cabin and cab area clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driverβs License (CDL) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in OTR or dedicated freight.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, cargo securement, and safety protocols.
- Reliable communication skills and a professional attitude toward dispatch and customers.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as required.
