Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers for overnight freight delivery routes
- Perform pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Coordinate with dispatchers for real-time route adjustments and delivery confirmations
- Secure and unload cargo using proper equipment and techniques
- Complete electronic logging (ELD) and documentation requirements
- Collaborate with warehouse teams for efficient loading/unloading operations
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Strong knowledge of Chicago metropolitan area and Midwest highways
- Pass DOT physical and substance screening requirements
- Ability to work independently in overnight shifts (10 PM - 6 AM)
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Basic proficiency with GPS navigation and ELD systems
