Responsibilities
- Operate box truck safely and efficiently to deliver freight on time and in perfect condition.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
- Secure cargo using proper strapping and tie-down techniques.
- Handle all necessary paperwork, including bills of lading and delivery receipts.
- Maintain a clean and professional image while interacting with customers and clients.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws and regulations.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues immediately to the maintenance department.
Qualifications
- Current, valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) (or equivalent experience for non-CDL box trucks).
- Ownership of a well-maintained box truck suitable for the assigned freight.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in a similar role.
- Clean driving record with no more than one major violation in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-service-oriented attitude.
