Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks safely and efficiently to transport loose materials (soil, gravel, asphalt) to and from job sites.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in safe operating condition.
- Secure loads properly to prevent shifting and ensure compliance with weight and size regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site supervisors regarding delivery schedules and any road hazards.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, including logbooks, delivery receipts, and maintenance reports.
- Maintain a clean and organized cab and truck bed at all times.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience driving dump trucks or heavy construction equipment.
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor truck issues.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and rugged terrain.
