We are looking for a professional who takes pride in their work and adheres to strict safety protocols while navigating the busy streets of the Tampa Bay area.
Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks to transport loose materials (sand, gravel, dirt, asphalt) to and from construction sites and job locations.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in safe operating condition.
- Load and unload materials using forklifts, loaders, or manual handling, ensuring weight distribution and load securing compliance.
- Maintain accurate daily logs (DVOR) and electronic logging devices (ELD) in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while driving.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site supervisors regarding delivery schedules and potential delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B required.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience driving dump trucks or heavy commercial vehicles.
- Clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of weight limits and load securement techniques.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and lift heavy loads (up to 50 lbs) occasionally.
