Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks to transport loose materials (sand, gravel, dirt, asphalt) to and from construction sites.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety compliance.
- Load and unload materials using skid steers, forklifts, or hand tools while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation as required by DOT regulations and company policy.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, site supervisors, and crew members to coordinate deliveries and pick-ups.
- Keep the truck and trailer clean, organized, and in good mechanical condition.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety guidelines, and route schedules without deviation.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License: A valid Class A or Class B CDL is preferred; training provided for qualified applicants without a license.
- Clean Driving Record: Must have a satisfactory MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) with no major violations within the last 3 years.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on safety and precise driving techniques.
- Communication Skills: Ability to listen and follow verbal and written instructions clearly.
- Experience: Prior experience in construction, hauling, or heavy equipment operation is a plus but not mandatory.
- Equipment Operation: Basic knowledge of operating skid steers or forklifts is highly desirable.
