Responsibilities
- Safely operate 10-18 axle dump trucks and end-dump trailers on construction sites and haul roads
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate DOT compliance documentation
- Coordinate with dispatch and site supervisors for efficient load sequencing
- Adhere to strict safety protocols in extreme weather conditions (-40°F to 80°F)
- Perform minor equipment troubleshooting and basic preventative maintenance
- Train junior drivers on company safety standards and operational procedures
- Maintain clean driving record with zero preventable accidents
Qualifications
- Class A CDL with minimum 3 years verifiable dump truck experience
- Clean MVR (no major violations in past 5 years)
- Valid HAZMAT certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Experience with tandem axle configurations and air brake systems
- Knowledge of Alaska Department of Transportation regulations
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and work in extreme temperatures
- High school diploma or equivalent required
