Responsibilities
- Operational Excellence: Safely operate commercial delivery vehicles to transport freight across the assigned region in a timely and efficient manner.
- Pre-Trip & Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure safety compliance and identify any maintenance needs.
- Freight Handling: Load and unload cargo using proper lifting techniques and equipment, ensuring goods are secured for transit.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and clients, ensuring satisfaction with delivery services and addressing inquiries courteously.
- Route Planning: Follow assigned routes and schedules while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies to minimize delays.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of delivery logs, mileage, and delivery receipts as required by DOT regulations.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Keep the vehicle clean and in good working condition, reporting any mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- CDL Requirement: Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required. Clean driving record preferred.
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading freight.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
