Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and tractor-trailers to deliver goods to designated locations on schedule.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and report mechanical issues.
- Load and unload cargo securely, adhering to weight restrictions and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and delivery documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding route changes, delays, and delivery confirmations.
- Adhere to all DOT regulations, FMCSA rules, and company safety policies at all times.
- Keep the cab and trailer clean and presentable at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record (no major violations in the last 3-5 years).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, road safety, and defensive driving techniques.
- Willingness to work varying schedules, including nights and weekends if necessary.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor vehicle troubleshooting.
