Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks in a safe, legal, and professional manner, adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety and mechanical reliability of the equipment.
- Load and unload freight efficiently and securely, ensuring cargo is protected during transit.
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and electronic dispatch records, including Hours of Service (HOS) and mileage tracking.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery times, route changes, and any potential issues.
- Uphold a professional image at all times, including maintaining a clean driving record and presentable appearance.
- Participate in safety meetings and training programs to stay updated on industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A (or Class B with Tanker/Hazmat endorsements).
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial vehicle.
- Clean driving record with no more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the job, including lifting and bending.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
