Responsibilities
- Safely transport students on designated routes following strict schedules and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Manage student behavior with professionalism and create a positive on-bus environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch regarding route changes
- Adhere to all federal/state transportation regulations and district policies
- Assist students with mobility needs during boarding and exiting procedures
- Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately to maintenance team
Qualifications
- Valid Arizona Commercial Driver's License (Class B with P/S endorsement) or ability to obtain within 60 days
- Clean driving record (no DUI/DWI convictions in past 5 years)
- Pass federal background check and fingerprint clearance
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility equipment
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience working with children preferred
- Basic first aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
