Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport goods to and from distribution centers in the DC and NYC metro areas.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo accurately and securely, adhering to weight limits and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate logs, delivery receipts, and electronic logging device (ELD) records.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company policies regarding driving conduct.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and potential delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B with required endorsements (Tanker, Hazmat, Double/Triple Trailer preferred).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial vehicle.
- Pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination to obtain a Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- Strong knowledge of road maps and navigation systems in the Northeast United States.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
