Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy-duty dump trucks, including loading and unloading materials at construction sites.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety protocols at all times.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours (DOT Hours of Service) and mileage records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and site supervisors regarding delivery schedules and traffic conditions.
- Keep the truck and cab clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A or Class B license with necessary endorsements (Tanker and Hazmat preferred but not always required).
- A clean driving record with no serious traffic violations in the past 3 years.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating dump trucks or heavy commercial vehicles.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in various weather conditions.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues.
