Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks to transport loose materials, including sand, gravel, dirt, and asphalt, to and from job sites.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload materials safely using winches, loaders, or manual labor, adhering to weight limits and securement procedures.
- Maintain accurate daily driver logs (ELD) and vehicle maintenance records as required by federal and state laws.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company safety protocols to minimize risk and ensure a hazard-free work environment.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site foremen regarding delivery schedules and site conditions.
- Keep the cab and immediate work area clean, organized, and free of debris.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Valid Medical Card and current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience operating dump trucks or heavy haul vehicles.
- Clean driving record with no DUIs or major moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Strong knowledge of DOT compliance, weight limits, and load securement best practices.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical labor, including bending and lifting.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
