Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A CDL) for local/regional routes within New York state
- Ensure timely delivery of goods while maintaining strict adherence to DOT regulations
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Utilize GPS technology for route optimization and real-time delivery tracking
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers, clients, and warehouse personnel
- Safely handle loading/unloading operations with proper equipment usage
- Document delivery receipts and resolve minor customer inquiries on-site
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Familiarity with NYC traffic patterns and bridge/tunnel restrictions
- Proficient in electronic logging devices (ELD) and basic navigation apps
- Strong time management skills for multi-stop delivery schedules
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment safely
- Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings and weekends
