Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school, field trips, and extracurricular activities
- Conduct pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain daily logs
- Enforce student conduct policies and ensure safety protocols during transit
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adapt routes for weather, traffic, and special events
- Complete required training in CPR, first aid, and defensive driving
- Maintain clean and orderly bus interior
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with P/S endorsement
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Child Development Associate (CDA) or equivalent training preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Clear TB test and fingerprint clearance
- Fluency in English and Spanish highly desirable
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
