Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle maintenance compliance
- Supervise student behavior during transit, maintaining a positive and secure environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Adhere to emergency procedures and manage unexpected situations calmly
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, student counts, and incident reports
- Support special needs students when required (training provided)
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screening
- Clear TB test and fingerprint clearance (Live Scan)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for emergency equipment/medical supplies
- Excellent communication skills with students and adults
- Patience and ability to manage diverse student populations
- Flexible schedule availability (early mornings and afternoons)
