Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Supervise student behavior during transit, maintaining a positive and secure environment
- Follow strict schedules and communicate delays to dispatch
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, including wheelchair accessibility when required
- Maintain accurate attendance records and incident reports
- Complete daily cleaning and sanitization of bus interiors
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record (3+ years)
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Experience working with children or preferred customer service background
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and assist with mobility devices
- Flexibility to work early morning/afternoon hours and occasional field trips
- Willingness to obtain Class B CDL with Passenger endorsement (training provided)
