Responsibilities
- Safely operate school bus routes adhering to strict schedules and traffic laws
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise student behavior ensuring a secure and respectful environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Follow emergency protocols and maintain safety documentation
- Assist students with mobility needs including wheelchair accessibility
Qualifications
- Valid Hawaii driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to obtain Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Pass federal background check and DOT physical examination
- Experience working with children preferred
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate bus steps safely
- Knowledge of Honolulu area geography
