Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on assigned routes and field trips in a timely manner.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students during transportation, maintaining discipline and order.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment, including cleaning the interior.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, and school staff.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and district policies at all times.
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the bus, including those with disabilities.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with Passenger endorsement.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical examination.
- Excellent customer service skills and patience when working with children.
- Availability to work early morning and afternoon shifts.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to handle minor vehicle issues is a plus.
