Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle maintenance compliance
- Manage student behavior with firm yet compassionate guidance
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all federal, state, and district transportation regulations
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident documentation
- Assist students with mobility needs including wheelchair safety protocols
Qualifications
- Valid Tennessee Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement
- Minimum 21 years of age with clean driving record
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
- Previous experience with children or special needs populations a plus
