Responsibilities
- Transport students safely to and from school and school-related activities in accordance with established routes and schedules.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Monitor student behavior and maintain a safe, orderly environment on the bus at all times.
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring they remain seated while the vehicle is in motion.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school administrators, and dispatch regarding any delays or behavioral issues.
- Follow all traffic laws, school district policies, and safety regulations strictly.
- Report any vehicle maintenance needs or safety hazards immediately to management.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
- A clean driving record with no DUI/DWI convictions in the past 7 years.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal and motor vehicle records.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm in emergency situations.
- Willingness to undergo a physical examination to ensure the ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
