Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and field trips following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues
- Maintain discipline and ensure student compliance with bus rules
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Adapt routes and schedules to accommodate student needs and weather conditions
- Complete administrative tasks (e.g., attendance logs, incident reports) remotely when possible
- Participate in ongoing safety training and certification programs
Qualifications
- Valid Oregon Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Pass federal background check and DOT physical examination
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work flexible hours (early mornings, afternoons, occasional weekends)
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage student behavior
- Basic computer skills for remote administrative tasks
