Responsibilities
- Transport students safely to and from school and school-related activities in accordance with all traffic and safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Manage student behavior on the bus, enforcing safety rules and maintaining a respectful environment.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, school administrators, and parents regarding delays or issues.
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, particularly those with special needs when required.
- Adhere to all company policies, DOT regulations, and state laws.
Qualifications
- A valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements is required.
- Willingness to obtain a CDL if you have a clean driving record but not yet licensed.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major traffic violations or DUIs within the last 3-5 years.
- Pass a thorough background check, including a criminal history and fingerprinting check.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Excellent customer service skills and patience when dealing with children.
