Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes while adhering to traffic laws and school policies
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and functionality
- Maintain a secure and orderly environment for all students during transit
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Follow emergency protocols and procedures during unexpected situations
- Complete accurate daily attendance and incident reports
- Assist students with boarding/alighting and accommodate special needs as required
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to obtain Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus Endorsement (training provided)
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication skills and patience when working with children
- Commitment to punctuality and reliability
- Basic first aid/CPR certification (training available)
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings and afternoons
