Responsibilities
- Transport students to and from school and school-related activities in a safe and timely manner.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment, enforcing safety rules and discipline among passengers.
- Follow designated routes and schedules strictly, adapting to traffic conditions as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration regarding schedules and any issues.
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, particularly those with special needs.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
- Clear driving record free of major violations in the past 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a thorough background check, drug screening, and physical examination.
- Excellent customer service skills and the patience to work with children of all ages.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform minor vehicle troubleshooting is a plus.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
