Responsibilities
- Safely operate district-provided school buses on designated routes
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Enforce safety protocols for student boarding and exiting
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adapt routes for field trips and special events
- Complete accurate trip documentation and incident reports
- Maintain calm demeanor during emergency situations
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- School Bus Endorsement and Passenger Transport certification
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Clear driving record with no major violations
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Background clearance through fingerprinting
