Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise student behavior during transit ensuring a positive environment
- Adhere to traffic laws and AISD transportation policies
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Report maintenance issues and maintain accurate trip logs
- Assist students with boarding/exiting including special needs accommodation
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 1 year professional driving experience
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work early mornings and afternoons
- Experience working with children preferred
- Clean driving record with no major violations
