Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on assigned routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise student behavior during transport and enforce district policies
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adapt routes for weather delays and special events
- Complete accurate incident reports and mileage logs
- Participate in ongoing safety training and professional development
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger & School Bus Endorsements (or willingness to obtain)
- Pass background check, drug screening, and physical examination
- Minimum 21 years old with clean driving record
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to manage student groups calmly and professionally
- Basic mechanical knowledge for daily vehicle inspections
- Commitment to punctuality and reliability
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
