Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses following traffic laws and district protocols
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement techniques
- Maintain accurate attendance and route documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to emergency procedures and evacuation protocols
- Ensure ADA compliance for student mobility needs
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Class C Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Clear background check and driving record
- Texas School Bus Driver Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to complete training)
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for student assistance
