Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses following designated routes and schedules
- Conduct pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Enforce student safety protocols during boarding, transit, and disembarkation
- Maintain accurate attendance records and student behavior documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Respond to emergency situations per district safety protocols
- Adhere to all federal/state transportation regulations and school policies
Qualifications
- Valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 3 years of driving experience with clean driving record
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- Completion of Florida School Bus Driver Certification program
- Background clearance through Florida Department of Education
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- High school diploma or equivalent required
