Responsibilities
- Safely transport K-12 students to and from school destinations on established routes
- Conduct thorough pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Enforce bus safety protocols and maintain orderly student conduct during transit
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws, school policies, and emergency procedures
- Complete accurate route documentation and incident reporting
- Assist students with boarding/exiting and accommodate special needs riders
Qualifications
- Valid Tennessee Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 3 years of professional driving experience with clean MVR record
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Tennessee School Bus Driver certification or ability to obtain within 60 days
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage student behavior
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred (provided if not held)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
