Location Details:
We are conveniently located in Staten Island, NY, serving clients throughout the greater New York metropolitan area. Our hub offers easy access to major highways, ensuring efficient routing and reduced transit times.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) in accordance with federal and state regulations, including FMCSA rules.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety and security of the cargo and the vehicle.
- Load and unload freight efficiently, ensuring proper securing of cargo to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic logging device (ELD) records to comply with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety protocols while navigating diverse road conditions in the NY area.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and any potential delays.
- Keep the truck cabin and cargo area clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driverβs License (CDL) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience.
- Current DOT Medical Card and DOT drug screening eligibility.
- Ability to pass a background check and substance abuse screening.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, cargo securement, and safety procedures.
- Basic computer literacy for using ELDs and electronic logging systems.
- Ability to lift and carry cargo weighing up to 50 lbs occasionally.
