Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and trailers in strict accordance with FMCSA regulations and company safety policies.
- Load and unload cargo securely using appropriate equipment, including chains, straps, and forklifts.
- Plan efficient routes and delivery schedules to ensure timely arrivals while strictly adhering to traffic laws.
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting any defects or irregularities immediately.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic logging device (ELD) records in compliance with DOT requirements.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and customers regarding delivery status and any potential delays.
- Maintain a professional appearance and a clean, clutter-free driving environment.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (no more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid US Driver's License.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and maintain a Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- Strong knowledge of road maps, GPS navigation systems, and traffic patterns in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading freight, including lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Strong commitment to safety and customer service excellence.
