Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicles: Drive commercial trucks to transport goods to designated locations in Chicago, IL, and Georgia with precision and care.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Cargo Handling: Load and unload cargo securely using appropriate equipment, ensuring all items are accounted for and protected.
- Compliance: Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and adhere strictly to all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Communication: Maintain clear and constant communication with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues.
- Safety First: Adhere to all traffic laws and safety protocols to ensure the safety of the crew, cargo, and public.
Qualifications
- CDL Required: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B is mandatory.
- Clean Record: Must possess a clean driving record with no recent DUIs or serious moving violations.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of driving experience preferred; fresh graduates with a clean record will be considered.
- Endorsements: Hazmat or Tanker endorsements are a plus but not required for all positions.
- Availability: Flexibility to work varied hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
