Responsibilities
- Operate Commercial Vehicles: Safely and efficiently operate Class A tractor-trailers to deliver freight on time and within the schedule.
- Pre-Trip & Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, and cargo securement, prior to departure and upon arrival.
- Load & Unload: Secure cargo using straps, chains, and braces, ensuring weight distribution is correct and compliance with safety regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records, including electronic logging devices (ELD), delivery receipts, and bills of lading.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) and company safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and terminals to resolve any delivery issues or concerns.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A License: Must possess a current, valid Commercial Driverβs License.
- Clean MVR Record: Must have a satisfactory driving record with no major violations or DUIs in the past 3-5 years.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience.
- Age Requirement: At least 21 years of age to drive across state lines.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to read and comprehend maps and GPS navigation systems.
