Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school and school-sponsored activities along designated routes and timetables.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Monitor student behavior and ensure a safe, orderly environment on the bus.
- Assist students in entering and exiting the bus, particularly those with special needs or younger ages.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school administrators, and dispatch regarding delays or emergencies.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies at all times.
- Keep the bus interior clean and sanitary throughout the shift.
Qualifications
- Valid New York State Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
- A clean driving record with no major violations or DUIs within the past 5 years.
- Pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and physical examination.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) medical exam.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience and a strong commitment to child safety.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
