Responsibilities
- Safely transport students on designated routes according to schedules and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of bus equipment
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement and safety guidelines
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Maintain accurate records including mileage, student counts, and incident reports
- Adhere to all federal, state, and district transportation regulations
- Assist students with boarding/exiting and special needs accommodations
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record (minimum 3 years)
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and ability to work with children of all ages
- Willingness to complete paid CDL training program
- Background check clearance
- Basic mechanical knowledge preferred
